Coral Garden Dive Site in Boracay Island – Philippines – Every person who boasts of being the dive expert has been in Boracay, Philippines and if they have not, well then let us just say they missed a couple of world class dives. Boracay is not only made for partying but also for scuba diving, and that is what you should be doing once you visit this island. One of the most visited dive spots in this island is the Coral Garden which we will be presenting to you right here right now.
The Coral Garden is also called the house reef by the locals and by most of the dive resorts because this dive location can be accessed directly from the shore or from the boat. Coral Garden is located right in the center of the west coast of Boracay which can be accessed from boat station 1 or boat station 2. This dive is pretty mild and ideal for those who just want to snorkel around.
The Coral Garden got its name from all the hard corals that are forming the reef. It is literally a garden full of corals especially cabbage corals. The Coral Garden is also an established fish feeding area so expect some fish to be following you around waiting for food. You will encounter damselfish, parrotfish, sergeant majors, and butterflyfish that might not even leave you alone until they get food. You may even bring small packs of food to feed them which will surely make a lasting memory.
The Coral Garden is pretty shallow and ideal for beginners and even advanced divers. The minimum depth is around 5 meters up to the maximum of 12 meters. The visibility in this diving spot is always superb with which you will never miss a single nudibranch crawling along the corals. This dive site has little to no currents which makes the Coral Garden perfect for training dives, beginner dives and dives where you can let loose and goof around with your friends.
The cost per dive ranges from $25 to $35 depending on the provider and if you want to use Nitrox or not. The Coral Garden is pretty shallow all by itself so the use of Nitrox would be just a waste of money on your part. If you forgot some of your equipments, then you can always rent at one of the many dive shops and resorts along the beach.
It is now time for you to strap on your BCD, place your mask on your face, strap the fins tight and do the last buddy check before entering the beautiful blue ocean right into the Coral Garden. Coral Garden is just one of the many dive spots in Boracay.
